| Our school serves children from 15 months through Kindergarten. We are proud of our teacher ratio and our experienced gentle staff. We are fully licensed by the MA Department of Early Education & Care and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The West Parish Family School is an outreach mission of West Parish of Barnstable, United Church of Christ. There is an emphasis on teaching Christian values; God and Jesus are introduced to the children through prayer and stories. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and the classrooms are designed for learning. Learning centers allow for child choice and for teacher-directed activities. We go outside each day to exercise our bodies as well as our minds. We use the High Scope Growing Readers Program- This program encourages a love of reading & helps enhance your child's understanding of print and phoenetic awareness, while still remaining age appropriate. We also use the High Scope Math Program. There are Tues/Thurs, Mon/Wed/Fri, and full week options. We also offer a 1/2 day option on Tues/Thurs for 3 & 4 year olds. We are very proud of our experienced staff and our low child/staff ratios. HOURS 9a.m. to 3p.m. Extended care is available at an additional cost (7:30-9:00a.m. & 3:00-5:30p.m.) We are open Sept. through June and follow the Barnstable School calendar.
